Citizenship

Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program

The Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program offers eligible applicants and qualifying family members a route to citizenship and a second passport through a contribution or approved investment.

Choose from four routes, with the National Development Fund contribution starting at US$230,000, plus applicable fees. Applications are assessed by the Citizenship by Investment Unit(opens in a new tab), known as the CIU, under the programme's eligibility and due diligence requirements.

Citizenship creates a lasting connection with the country and the right to make a home there. We help you compare the investment routes, consider a family application and arrange the appropriate professional assistance.

The 2024 Regulations also provide for supported children, parents or grandparents with specified disabilities irrespective of age, and certain spouses and children of eligible dependants. Conditions apply to each category, including parental or guardian consent where a minor sibling is included. Family relationships and any support requirement applicable to the category must be documented. Confirm the treatment of each person with the licensed agent before selecting a route or calculating the application cost.

Citizenship programme fees and application costs

For the NDF, real estate and business routes, the published processing fee is US$10,000 for a single applicant or US$20,000 for a family of up to four, with US$10,000 for each additional dependant.

The UWI route has its own inclusive fee structure. Published due diligence fees are US$8,500 for the main applicant, US$5,000 for a spouse, US$2,000 for a dependant aged 12 to 17 and US$4,000 for an adult dependant. No due diligence fee is charged for children aged 11 or below. A benefactor may attract a separate charge. Allow also for the interview fee of US$1,500 per application under the CIU's interview guidance and the initial passport fee of US$300 per person. Professional fees and any transaction costs are additional. Review the CIU schedule of fees(opens in a new tab) and obtain an itemised quotation for your family and route, with each public charge identified separately.

How to apply for Antigua and Barbuda citizenship

Applications must be submitted through a CIU-licensed agent. An authorised representative of our Embassy may assist with the preparation and coordination of a case within the scope of their authorisation.

The process involves documentary checks and independent due diligence. Under the CIU's interview guidance, applicants aged 16 or above are interviewed virtually, normally in a family session arranged through the licensed agent. Requests for further information may follow. Approval is not automatic, and a processing estimate is not a promised completion date. After approval, the required investment and outstanding payments must be completed within the applicable deadlines. Citizenship registration, the oath of allegiance and passport arrangements then follow the prescribed procedure.

Citizenship responsibilities after approval

Citizens must comply with the physical-presence and other continuing conditions applicable to their grant. Confirm those conditions with the CIU before submitting a new application and before planning travel or passport renewal.

Failure to meet an applicable requirement may have consequences for citizenship as well as passport renewal.
